Jesus Christ - The Indescribable Gift!!- Dr. Paul Dhinakaran  Friend, the term 'Indescribable Gift' means one that goes beyond description. St. Paul calls Lord Jesus as an 'indescribable gift'.
The word 'Indescribable Gift' reminds me of a story of a little boy. Once, a little boy was playing with his friends on the street. Suddenly an ugly looking man, whose hands and legs were twisted abnormally hobbled along very slowly. When the children saw him, they were alarmed. He looked shabby. He did not look appealing and he could not even stand straight. So they picked up stones that were lying near by and threw it at him shouting, "Get away! Get away!" They hated even to look at him. He silently bore all these unwelcoming gestures from the kids, though he did not deserve them at all. He just smiled at them and went his way.
After playing, the boys went back home. However, the little boy had a shock awaiting him at his home. He saw his mother bidding farewell to that ugly looking man whom he had seen on the street. In anger, he walked up to his mother and questioned, "Mummy, why did you allow that man inside? We were driving him away on the road, but you welcomed him into our house. Will not my friends make fun of me?"
She replied calmly, "My dear son, one winter evening, when you were a small child, I carried you to the lake side. The lake was frozen and the sight was so beautiful. You had just begun to walk and I was watching you play around on the solid surface of the lake. Suddenly, the ice split and you fell into the frozen water. I could not jump in and save you, because I did not know to swim. I cried out for help. No one would dare to jump and rescue you from the cold water. One young man came to my rescue. The water was at the freezing point. Without a second thought, he jumped in and saved your life. However, after throwing you to safety, he could not come out of the water and he was freezing in the cold water. Some people came and rescued him from the water half dead.
The doctors could not straighten his legs and hands. His nervous system was badly affected. That was the man whom you saw leaving the house just now. He did not regard his life but saved you. Because of his body being disfigured, you are in good shape today. He had come to see how you are doing." The little boy was in tears. He said, "Mummy, I should have kissed the man's feet and thanked him, but I threw stones at him. Will God ever forgive me for this ungratefulness?" So saying, he cried uncontrollably.
Dear friend, many times, we too forget the sacrifice that the Lord offered on the cross to save us. We do not give place for the Lord in our hearts. We fail to honour Him. With great love, He gave His life on the cross. Because He has those horrible marks of nail in His hands, legs and wounds all over His body, we are enjoying our lives. He was also mangled like that man who was disfigured for that little boy.
Let us learn to value that 'Indescribable Gift'. Let's stop stoning Jesus by our sinful living that is unpleasing before God. Let us live a pleasing life that will make Lord Jesus very happy. Let us kiss His wounds and scars by living a righteous life. When you obey your parents, love the Lord Jesus, read the Bible and pray daily, you become thankful to Him.
As St. Paul says, let us thank God for His 'Indescribable Gift'. Let's tell Jesus, "Jesus, You are an indescribable gift to me. I kiss Your loving arms and feet with love and devotion. Thank You for being disfigured to save me from the wickedness of this world." When you do so, the Lord will bless you with great joy.

Loving Jesus,
You are an indescribable gift to me. Thank You for being disfigured to save me from the wickedness of this world. Teach me to lead a life pleasing to Your sight. Help me to love You more and more everyday. I give you all the glory, honour and praise.
